Little Way Services

The Centres overall aim is to provide a service in the community for the community.

  • To provide support for cancer patients their family and friends.
  • To take the fear out of the word cancer.
  • To support the person not the cancer
  • To empower people with cancer with a better knowledge and understanding of their illness so they can make more informed choices.
  • To assist them by way of Education, Recreation, and Information.
  • To help people to come to terms with their diagnosis in a positive way to a point where they may wish to move on.
  • To enable people with cancer access the support, information and be sure of a sympathetic ear.
  • The centre operates on a drop-in basic.
  • Those visiting the centre are met by trained volunteers who offer supportive listening and provide practical information.
  • An extensive supply of relevant reading material is available.
  • Support groups are held for people sharing similar experiences.
  • Complimentary therapies, relaxation and meditation are available.
  • All services, classes, etc. are provided free of charge to people with cancer.

What We Do

The Little Way Cancer Support Centre meets this need by providing emotional support and practical help to people who have or have had cancer, their families and their friends. The Centres overall aim is to provide a service in the community for the community.

The centre operates strict rules of confidentiality, which are observed by all volunteersand visitors.  This ensures that the Little Way can offer a safe and caring environment for all who visit.

Upcoming Events in aid of Little Way Cancer Support Centre.

August 23rd 2009 - Youth Concert, Local Youth Band 3.00pm to 7.00pm

Friday 28th August 2009 - Table quiz and raffle, Event will take place in St. Kevin's GAA Club, Staplestown @ 9pm

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August 2009 - Booleigh Annual Charity Fundraiser in aid of local charities and cancer support.  Overnight Camping Saturday (Security Patrolled) Music, Hot Food and Refreshments all Weekend.
